From our special envoy to Landerneau (Finistère)
This is an exhibition that is likely to make noise in the Landerneau of heroic fantasy lovers, or even among purists of the work of J. R. R. Tolkien (1892-1973). Who would have thought that Landerneau, a Breton town of 16,000 inhabitants in the heart of Finistère, could one day house the baroque and medieval universe of The Lord of the Rings? However, Brittany, whose forest of Brocéliande, renamed "forest of Paimpont", welcomed the Arthurian gesture, perfectly suited to the medieval-fantastic of Tolkien or the Canadian illustrator John Howe.
At the entrance of the Hélène and Édouard Leclerc Fund for Culture, visitors are greeted by a surprising ballet of winged dragons flying over a large, dark Gothic-looking tower.
