Spin-around-cake: Creamy cheesecake with a difference

The following recipe is a cheesecake in which the batter base and the quark topping swap places during baking - hence the name "turn-around-cake". Don't worry, you don't have to do anything for this, the cream filling will automatically sink to the bottom, whereas the bottom will move upwards.

Recipe: Here's what you'll need for the creamy spin-around cheesecake

For the cake batter:

  • 150 g of sugar
  • 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
  • 150 g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g of flour
  • 1 sachet of baking powder

For the cake filling:

  • 100 ml lemon juice
  • 500 g cottage cheese

Cakes: This is how easy and quick you can prepare the special cheesecake

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat (convection oven 180 degrees Celsius) and grease a springform pan.
  • Beat the sugar, vanilla sugar, and butter in a large baking bowl until fluffy, gradually adding the eggs. Next, add the flour and baking powder and mix the ingredients thoroughly with a blender.
  • For the pie filling, take another large baking bowl and add the sugar and butter to it. Beat the ingredients until fluffy and add the eggs, stirring constantly. In a small bowl, mix the vanilla pudding powder with the lemon juice and then add the mixture to the large bowl as well as the curd. Mix the ingredients until creamy.
  • Pour the cream onto the bottom of the springform pan and bake the cheesecake in a preheated oven for just under an hour. After the baking time has elapsed, let the spin-around cake cool down and dust it with a little powdered sugar to taste.
