The ECB "urges EU legislators to reach an agreement on the reform of the economic governance framework as soon as possible and at the latest by the end of 2023." "It would be key to anchoring expectations for debt sustainability and sustainable, inclusive growth."
Without "a swift agreement" and "a swift establishment of a credible, transparent and predictable fiscal framework, uncertainty could be created and the necessary fiscal adjustment and the impetus for reforms and investment could be unduly delayed". This is stated in its opinion on the reform of the Stability Pact today in the Official Journal.
