A festival dedicated to two PDO products of Rotonda (Potenza): the white bean and the red eggplant. The thirteenth edition of the "Il Bianco e la Rossa" initiative will be held in the Lucanian village, in the heart of the Pollino National Park, from 31 August to 2 September. There will be "debates, show cooking, tastings and shows for adults and children".
The event, "relaunched - it is explained in a press release - for some years by the Consortia for the protection of the two PDO products, has become an important appointment in the calendar of summer initiatives of the municipality of Rotonda and the entire Basilicata. The three days, presented and coordinated by the gastronomic journalist Maria Rosaria Sica, will open on Thursday 31 August, at 18 pm in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele".
During the event "it will be possible to taste menus based on red eggplant and white bean dop, at all participating restaurants in Rotonda". The event is organized not only by the "Consortium for the protection of the red aubergine of Rotonda dop", by the "Consortium for the protection of white beans of Rotonda dop", by the "Pollino short chain" and in collaboration with the Municipality of Rotonda.
