Four years after Hors normes and a fruitful detour through the series (Enthérapie), Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache prove with Uneannée difficile that they have lost none of their sense of comedy and their talent for capturing the zeitgeist. It is polluted here since the tandem features environmental activists who carry out actions to curb the mad race of the Anthropocene world.
Among them, Noémie Merlant, funny and moving as a radical eco-anxious (from her diet to her apartment without furniture). She does not leave insensitive Albert and Bruno, two over-indebted paumés who join the movement for his beautiful eyes as much as to eat chips to the eye.
The duo Jonathan Cohen and Pio Marmaï make sparks, transforming any scene a priori banal into a great burlesque moment. Mathieu Amalric completes the cast as an over-indebtedness advisor addicted to the casino. All this does not prevent Toledano and Nakache from successfully venturing on the side of the romantic comedy. And to film a memorable waltz during a superb finale. A must see after a scorching summer and before the end of the world. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 18.
