The secretary general of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini, writes to the premier, Giorgia Meloni, supporting "the need to convene a meeting with the most representative social partners" and to open "a negotiation confrontation" for "the real" protection and growth of the purchasing power of wages and pensions; the renewal of contracts, also with the resources to be included in the Budget Law; the definition of a law on representation and the minimum wage; the overcoming of a precariousness in work "no longer sustainable" and the launch of an extraordinary recruitment plan in the public sector.

Landini relaunches the proposal for a law on representation that "cancels pirate contracts, certifies the ownership of the negotiating subjects and thus assigns general legal value to national collective labour agreements stipulated by comparatively more representative organizations"; In this context, he writes in the letter, "to set a minimum hourly wage valid for all national contracts so that no working person can be paid with a lower hourly wage".

"We intend to bring directly to your attention - writes Landini in the letter sent to the Prime Minister - the need to convene a meeting with the comparatively most representative social partners stipulating national contracts and interconfederal agreements to verify the conditions for starting a negotiation aimed at promoting the real protection and growth of the purchasing power of wages and pensions; the renewal of national public and private collective labour agreements. This - he continues - both in terms of resources to be included in the Budget law, both in terms of recovery of delays in renewals, and in terms of fiscal intervention to support net salary increases adequate to the inflationary situation".

On the table also "the definition of a law on representation that cancels pirate contracts, certifies the ownership of the negotiating subjects, thus assigns general legal value to the economic and regulatory contents of national collective labor agreements stipulated by comparatively more representative representative organizations, guarantees the right of workers to vote on contracts concerning them and to be able to elect RSU in every workplace", says the number one of the CGIL underlining the union's proposal: in this context "to set a minimum hourly wage quota valid for all national contracts so that no person who works can be paid with a lower hourly wage".

Landini also indicates "the overcoming of a precariousness in work that is no longer sustainable: it is time to affirm stability in employment relationships and equal rights among all people who must work to live, this also applies to the contract work system; the implementation of an extraordinary recruitment plan throughout the public sector (from health to education) including the stabilization of staff still precarious". And it refers "to the meeting a wider and more articulated exposition of our proposals".
