The first World Team Panettone Championship will be held from 10 to 13 October, an international event between world pastry and bakery stars organized and promoted by the Accademia dei Maestri del LievitoMadre e del Panettone Italiano "in collaboration with ItalianGourmet, as Official Media Partner and HostMilano (the world fair dedicated to the world of catering and hospitality) which will open on 9 October at EatalyVerona". The Italian team is represented by master reliefists Claudio Gatti, Aniello di Caprio, Giuseppe Mascolo and Beniamino Bazzoli. The national team, captained by Claudio Gatti, has spent the last few weeks in training sessions under the supervision of team manager Davide Malizia and coaches Ezio Marinato and Maurizio Bonanomi, "between top secret preparations and tastings, analysis and study of the regulation". The teams participating in the championship will be presented on October 9th at Eataly Verona: the national teams competing are Argentina, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Poland, Spain, Taiwan. The competition provides that "our masters will have to pack 10 identical panettone in three different versions: the realization of the classic Italian panettone will be up to Aniello di Caprio, that of the chocolate panettone with chocolate dough to Giuseppe Mascolo, while to try his hand at the innovative leavened "salty panettone" will be ClaudioGatti". Beniamino Bazzoli will be the reserve of the team. The national teams will compete in two rounds, the first on 10 and 11 October with France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the second on 12 and 13 October with Argentina, Japan, Poland, Taiwan. All stages of the competition will be filmed by the cameras, in support of the work of the judges, to show step by step and in a completely transparent way the work of the masters, without having to limit themselves solely to judging the finished product. The grand final will be streamed live. The winners will be announced at HostMilano at Fiera Milano on 14 October.
