As soon as he received the Volpi Cup for his performance in Michel Franco's Memory, Peter-Sarsgaard brings to the stage of the Venice Film Festival the episodes of the strike in Hollywood: "As you know, actors are on strike. The issue of a fair salary is important, but the issue of artificial intelligence is central, it must be our priority. Surely an actor is a person and an author is a person, on this we should all agree, but instead it seems that we are not, and it is terrifying. The work we do has to do with connection: without it, this sacred experience of being human would be handed over to the machines and the billionaires who own them. If we lose this battle, our industry will be the first among many to fall and disconnection will pave the way for atrocities."
