In his fiefdom in Lyon, the éminence grise of the 7 art Thierry Frémaux dreamed of celebrating the opening of his brand new Lumière Brothers Museum with Wim Wenders on the red carpet of the Lumière Festival. Due to small adjustments, the inauguration has been postponed to October 26. Pushing open the door of this "castle", with its terraces and turrets, where Michael Jackson made an appearance in 1997 is moving. Internationally, there is only one other majestic family home dedicated to the history of cinema: Charlie Chaplin's above Lake Geneva in Vevey, Switzerland. "At the beginning of the twentieth century, Antoine Lumière, so proud of his success and of the inventions of his sons Louis and Auguste in photography and cinema, had this ostentatious villa built," says Thierry Frémaux.
