Very high alert in France, where another "S" for radicalization, a 24-year-old young man, was stopped at the exit from a prayer hall in Limay, in the suburbs of Paris. He had a kitchen knife with him and was about to enter a school. The man, who was guarded by police, was arrested for possession of an improper weapon as he approached Condorcet High School, according to BFM sources. He is a man of French nationality, known for his radicalization.
President Emmanuel Macron, after visiting the high school in Arras i (northern France) where a high school teacher was killed, confirmed that another
"attempted attack" "in another region" was foiled thanks to an intervention by the police. "France is once again struck by the barbarity of Islamic terrorism": these are Macron's first words as he left high school, where he paid tribute to the body of the professor killed by a young Chechen who praised Allah Akbar. It was "a savage and cowardly murder", Macron stressed, recalling the beheading of another professor, Samuel Paty, 3 years ago in the suburbs of Paris.
Meanwhile, details continue to leak about the person responsible for the attack in Arras: his name is Mohammed Mogouchkov, he arrived at the age of 6 in France with his family and still has only Russian nationality, having not obtained that French, and was registered "S", therefore at risk of radicalization. The brother, also arrested today, had been accused in recent years of planning an attack and apology for terrorism. He himself, as filed "S", was subject to "physical" surveillance, therefore directed according to his movements, both to telephone interceptions.
According to what is learned, even yesterday he was stopped by the police, who checked his documents and let him go. According to leaks, the profile of the twenty-year-old's family is particularly disturbing. Father, mother and five children are in France but have never obtained regular documents. The father was deported years ago to Russia, the mother with her children lives in a reception center after several humanitarian organizations opposed the expulsion of the whole family in 2014. The eldest son, Mosvar, has been in prison since 2019, involved in a project to attack the Elysée.
In 2023 he was sentenced to 5 years for failure to report. His role in the project would be to shoot a video of the planned action and then spread it on the Internet. In recent years, the switch to the electronic bracelet size had been revoked because Mosvar was caught spreading violent ISIS propaganda content on X. Mohammed, as we learn, had been placed under surveillance as he had been registered "S" for only about ten days.
