Wieland's friend: "Never wake up a rascal!"

For many people, Friday the 13th means bad luck. For others, it's a black cat crossing the street in front of you or when you walk under a ladder. In Wieland Freund's "Wecke nie einen Schrat!", Jannis has awakened a Schrat that never leaves his side. To have a Schrat on your side means bad luck. The drawings by Joelle Tourlonias complement the book in a wonderful way and make it a pleasure to read.

Ever since Jannis woke up Wendel, the rascal, he hasn't left his side. And yet every elf child knows that a Schrat brings bad luck! It gets worse: The evil wizard Elderberry lets a huge storm sweep through the forest. Not only Jannis' best friend Moth is blown away, but also the elf queen Tatiana. Suddenly, all the elves' hopes rest on Jannis and Wendel. A fabulously exciting adventure about an unusual friendship and the courage to face danger.

Antoine Schneider "Mr. Happiness and Mrs. Misfortune"

A great and wonderfully illustrated story about the topic of "happiness". Whether as school reading in the first grades of primary school or as a read-aloud book with grandparents or parents, the book is a great opportunity to talk about your own happiness afterwards. A thought-provoking book that keeps you talking about it.

Ursula Poznanski "Pauline Pechfee"

Ursula Poznanski is not only a successful writer of children's books, but has also published a number of crime novels in recent years, such as "Silence Bleeds". But "Pauline Pechfee" is about Pauline, who is allowed to bring happiness to people for the first time. Her first attempts together with the experienced fairy godmother Camilla are very promising. The book is currently only available second-hand, but worth reading.

But somehow she doesn't seem to have a talent for being a fairy godmother. All those whom she wants to help with a pinch of stardust are served a good portion of bad luck: A woman not only misses the bus, but also falls lengthwise; a small stray can't find a sausage, but dumps it into a garbage can
