The President of the Senate, Ignazio LaRussa, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, were welcomed by the President of the Indian Lok Sabha, Om Birla, at the opening of the IXsummit of the Presidents of the G20 Parliaments at the International Convention and Expo Centre in New Delhi.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Ignazio La Russa reiterated "Italy's firm position in support of Israel", strongly supported by Italy beyond specific issues. "Personally," said the President of the Senate, "I also do it with some bilateral agreements, because we know that at this moment the independence and freedom of Israel must be at the center of all discussions between free countries."
