An almost perfect match played and won 6-0 7-5 by Jasmine Paolini in the quarterfinals of the "Zhengzhou Open" (WTA 500 with prize money of $ 780,637) against the German Laura Siegemund.
For Paolini this is the seventh and most important semifinal reached in her career, a result that makes her the virtual n.31 of the world, ranking that she can try to improve further in the challenge that awaits her against the winner of the fourth between the Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (n.28) and the Chinese Qinwen Zhang (n.24).
A first time to celebrate for Martina Trevisan who reached the first semifinal in Hong Kong on the hard in her career in the WTA circuit. In the quarterfinals of the "Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2023" she dominated 6-4 6-3 Elise Mertens who had defeated her this year in Abu Dhabi in her first participation in the tournament. Trevisan reaches the third semifinal of her career after the two reached in 2022 at Roland Garros (defeated by Cori Gauff) and in Rabat, where she won the first and so far only WTA title of her career.
