- The top 10 of the most searched Italian desserts online sees tiramisu at the top of the ranking. On the podium also panettone and pandoro, followed by the Easter dove, to underline how the holidays influence the palate of consumers. This is what emerges from the Tilby Drink & Food Observatory (cloud cash point of the Zucchetti Group, a software company) which shows the main research trends of Italians, as well as their interest in some specific desserts of the national culinary tradition. The data relating to consumer trends derive from the analysis of the search for sweets through Google Trends, a tool, based on Google, which allows you to know the search frequency on web search engines of a given word or phrase.
In fifth place in the ranking we find the ciambellone, a dessert for breakfast together with the croissant, which is in seventh position, preceded by the crunchy. Eighth the Neapolitan pastiera, ninth the zeppola "which depopulated especially at Carnival". At the bottom of the list we find the struffoli. Among the most popular desserts also cheesecake, profiteroles and crème brûlée, which however do not belong to the Italian gastronomic tradition.
