On January 20, 1962, Théo Sarapo, who worked in his father's hairdressing salon and dreamed of becoming a singer, missed the last train to La Frette-sur-Seine (Val-d'Oise), where he lived with his family. His friend Claude Figus suggested that he go to Édith Piaf's house, who was having an evening at her house on Boulevard Lannes in Paris (<>th arrondissement).
