The EU Commission will "immediately triple humanitarian aid to Gaza" to "over 75 million euros". This was announced in a note by President Ursula von der Leyen, after a meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
"The Commission will immediately increase the current humanitarian aid envelope for Gaza by €50 million. This will bring the total to over 75 million euros", underlines Leyen, indicating the willingness to maintain a "close collaboration with the United Nations to ensure that this aid reaches those who need it in the Gaza Strip".
