A story posted Saturday afternoon by chef Eyal Shani was quickly taken down from his Instagram page, after countless hateful comments, negative shares, massive removal of followers and calls for a boycott of his restaurants.

In his story, Shani called on the prime minister to evacuate mothers and babies from hospitals in Gaza, before continuing the fighting and expanding Operation Iron Swords.

"Two hospitals in Gaza where mothers and babies are hospitalized have announced that they are unable to evacuate," Shani described, "I appeal to you personally, Bibi, be human, and before we go out to fight pure evil, please make a gesture and refer them to hospitals in Israel."

"Our sword should forever be held by a human hand. This is the heritage of our people."

Like the vast majority of the Israeli food world, Shani stepped up and put a sturdy shoulder under the aid stretcher. "All of us together are now going through the most difficult days in the history of our people, our hearts are broken and our souls are shattered," he wrote in a concluding post before the weekend, "The most primal nightmares of the Jewish people have come true and become a reality that human beings cannot bear. And how sad, and ironic, that precisely these days, the people of Israel are seen in all its strength, beauty and resilience, an entire nation that has become one entity that is all heroism, giving and helping, kindness and greatness of spirit that is unparalleled in the world."

"When I look at you, coming with all your heart to give and contribute, I feel that I have never been so proud to be Israeli as I am now. Thank you, each and every one of you, for giving me the privilege to be a part of you, from such a wonderful people like no other."

As expected, this post, part of his Instagram page's "regular" feed, was filled with comments on the story of the fight.
