During the interview given by the conservative author, known for successful books such as "The Strange Death of Europe" and "The Madness of the Mob," Murray was asked about the way Israel treats the residents of the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas' acts of terror, and whether this is, in his opinion, "proportionate and just."

"There is a profound divergence in Britain whenever Israel is involved in a conflict, and that's the word you just used: 'proportion,' 'proportion,' 'proportionality.' Only Britain has a real obsession with it, I've heard it over the last few days constantly," he said.
