The surprise backfired. AZ, a member of the group Tragédie, known in the 2000s, was fired for misconduct by the SNCF after appearing on the show "Touche pas à mon poste" in June 2017 while he was on sick leave. The Lyon Court of Appeal has just ruled in favour of the railway company in a decision of 27 September, reports L'Informer.
Hazdine Souiri, nicknamed AZ, joined the group in 2015. So he wasn't with Tizy Bone and Silky Shaï, the two long-time members of the band, when they released the hits "Hey oh" and "Sexy pour moi" in 2003. However, AZ had been with the pair since an appearance in "TPMP" on July 2, 2015. But it was a new appearance on Cyril Hanouna's show that changed the game for Hazdine Souiri.
Concerts on days off and sick leave
The band, renamed T30, came in June 2017 to present their new single "Tu n'aurais jamais doit" on the set. But the presence of the singer provoked a reaction from the SNCF: indeed, the man was a controller there and had justified his absence of the day by a sick leave. After a disciplinary council, Hazdine Souiri was dismissed by the railway company.
Indeed, in its research, the SNCF had discovered that the band's concert and recording dates corresponded "almost systematically to periods of absence due to illness", notes L'Informer. Other dates also corresponded to holiday periods. In the absence of authorization and information from his employer, AZ committed a fault and his sanction was deemed proportionate by the court on appeal. According to the Lyon Court of Appeal, the man was indeed present in the group "in a professional capacity" and not only for his leisure time.
Hazdine Souiri's younger brother was also implicated in the case, according to L'Informer. Also a train conductor employed by the SNCF, he was dismissed for the same reason, because of his activity as manager of the T30 group. This time, however, the Lyon Court of Appeal did not uphold the decision taken by the SNCF: it ordered the railway company to pay 12,000 euros in compensation for unfair dismissal.
