Hamas would be ready to release the 200 or so hostages if Israel would end its attacks on the Gaza Strip. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said this, quoted by the Times of Israel. At the moment, however, there is no evidence that Hamas has taken a position in this regard. According to Hanani, members of the Palestinian faction "said that they are ready to take the necessary measures for the release of civilians held by resistance groups, but that their view is that such measures require preparations that are impossible under the daily dezionist bombing of various parts of Gaza."
