"You are the weakest link. Goodbye. This cult phrase from the game show will soon be back on your screens. The M 6 channel plans to relaunch "The Weak Link" in prime time soon with comedian Vincent Dedienne at its head, Le Parisien learned on Monday, confirming a report by Var-Matin.

The game show, adapted from the British program "The Weakest Link", was released in 2001 on TF1. In particular, he revealed to the general public the host Laurence Boccolini, made unavoidable by her cold and pungent sentences thrown at candidates who did not always have the right answers. Stopped in 2007, the game was briefly revived for one season, from September 2014 to July 2015, presented by Julien Courbet on the D8 channel (now C8).

"I fell madly in love with Laurence Boccolini"

The principle of this game is based on answers to general knowledge questions that must be answered successively by all participants during a round. At the same time, they have to try to collect money as they get the answers right, without forgetting to say "Bank!" in order to safeguard their winnings. At the end of each round, the contestants must eliminate one of them, the one they consider to be the weakest link.

Vincent Dedienne is thus tipped to take over the reins of the game, after having starred in his only stage "If there is something going on... from 2014 to 2018, "Un soir de gala" in 2021, and more recently in the theatre with the play "A Straw Hat in Italy" this year. He has won two Molière de l'humour awards for his solo shows. On the TV side, he had worked on the sets of "Supplement" and "Quotidien" at the end of the 2010s.

A choice that may come as a surprise, but the 36-year-old comedian has never hidden her passion for the game and its original host. During a "Quotidien" show in December 2016, they met for the first time, admitting to "admiring" each other. "I fell madly in love with Laurence Boccolini when I was a child and it hasn't left me. (...) I think she's a brilliant actress, in The Weak Link, in Mademoiselle Joubert, when she wrote columns in Rien à cirer, she has an incredible pen," Vincent Dedienne said at the time.
