The four-way summit in Jordan with US President Joe Biden, Palestinian leader AbuMazen and Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Gaza "has been cancelled because there is no point in talking about anything other than stopping the war", said Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, quoted by Arab media.
After consulting with King Abdullah II of Jordan and in light of the days of mourning announced by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Biden will postpone his trip to Jordan. This was announced by the White House, adding that the US president "looks forward to being able to consult in person with these leaders soon and has agreed to remain regularly and directly engaged with each of them in the coming days". Biden "sent his deepest condolences for the innocent lives lost in the Gaza hospital explosion and wished a speedy recovery to the injured."
