"It's never as easy as it sounds.
This time we had a really difficult group, but credit must be given to the boys for some of the results we have achieved, for the performances, and today we completed it all." Harry Kane, who scored two goals against Italy, commented on the match at Wembley and the fact that England mathematically qualified for Euro 2024.
"We went 1-0 down, but we remained calm and consistent, we knew we had enough to win and we did it. It's been a tough journey and to qualify with two games to go is a credit to everyone involved."
Kane is now England's top scorer at Wembley, having surpassed Bobby Charlton. "I love it, this stadium is our home," he comments, "we have made it a real fortress over the years and always sold out. The fans love coming here, and we wanted to repay them with good wins and good performances: today we did that."
