Thousands of demonstrators gathered in front of the French embassy on the capital's central Avenue Bourguiba in support of the Palestinian people, who took to the streets early in the evening after news of the massacre in Gaza. The crowd shouts to denounce France's "unconditional support" for Israeli massacres in Gaza and demands the "expulsion" of the French ambassador from the country and those of all Western countries that justify Israel. "The French and the Americans are allies of the Zionists," the protesters shouted, according to local sources. The protesters also chanted slogans hostile to French President Emmanuel Macron, calling him a "murderer." In the evening, there were moments of tension when demonstrators tried to break through the security cordon of the police responsible for protecting the diplomatic headquarters.
