Comments on the latest decree law on migrants launched by the government have been expressed by the Chamber of Deputies' Research Service, which, in particular on the measures concerning the detention of minors, calls for coordination with the legislation already in force.
In the crosshairs, among other things, is the possibility, introduced by the decree, to detain minors of at least 16 years of age in ordinary and extraordinary reception centers, in a section specifically dedicated to this age group. The experts of the Chamber of Deputies invite to evaluate the opportunity of coordination with the provisions of Legislative Decree 142 of 2015, "which establishes the principle according to which the unaccompanied minor may under no circumstances be detained at detention centers for repatriation (CPR) or welcomed at government centers of first reception."
The Chamber of Deputies rejects the preliminary rulings on the constitutionality of the opposition to the decree law on immigration. The House will then be able to examine the measure.
