The Bergson Pop-Up at Munich's Marienplatz now presents free concerts every day – and a bike to exercise. Designed by the Düsseldorf artist Meral Alma.

But now enough with the bad mood about the fact that summer is finally over for this year. The help against the cold is to pedal. Treats for your weaker self are ready. Because from now on, the Bergson Pop-Up at Munich's Marienplatz will not be just any sports equipment. The artist Meral Alma has painted it vigorously, in all the colors of the rainbow. That's how you know the Düsseldorf native. Again and again she deals with the "circus of life" in her works, which is also the title of one of her major works. The highlight: Meral Alma works with different shades. In daylight, you can also see a potpourri of colour-intensive abstract shapes on the indoor sports bike, which is now waiting for visitors who like to move in the basement of the Bergson Pop-Up. But if black light falls on the device, a second level is revealed. Suddenly, ballerinas, princes, kings dance over handlebars, wheels, stands. The circus comes to life.

A bit like the Bergson itself, which is currently being built on the site of the former combined heat and power plant in Aubing. A gigantic art power plant will open there in January 2024. Until then, and people at Bergson can attend concerts, exhibitions, readings, dine in beer gardens and restaurants, philosophize at the bars 365 days a year, for example, the ambitious project at Munich's Marienplatz is promoting itself.

With music, you can watch the hustle and bustle of the city centre in a relaxed way

So far, mainly with an art exhibition in the upper floor, gastronomy in the ground floor and music in the basement. But from now on, they step up a gear. On Wednesdays there is already a free program at 18 p.m., and from now on also Monday to Saturday from 12 p.m. to 17 p.m. On a freshly set up stage in the entrance area, cultural snacks for in between will be served from now on. Various artists invite you to take the time to consciously step out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Instead, to enjoy it with varied music, relaxed and a bit amused by all the unnecessary hustle and bustle from the observer's perspective. Or just one floor lower. The feet in the pedals, the sounds of the stage in the ears. Warmed by culture through the dark days – autumn and winter can be so beautiful.
