She passed away in her sleep. American actress Lara Parker died Thursday at the age of 84 at her home in Los Angeles, California, her daughter Caitlin confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Born in 1937 in Knoxville, Tennessee, she moved to New York in 1967 to become an actress again. After a few days, she met the creator of the series "Dark Shadows" who gave her the role of Angélique Bouchard. She had not left this character during the four years of production of the ABC series, until 1971.

She played a witch who had been seduced by Barnabas, the main character of the series, and subsequently cowardly abandoned. Her status as a witch had allowed her to make her a vampire, and their relationship between love and hate was one of the main issues of the series. "I interpreted her as someone who was much more of a tragic figure, who was hopelessly in love," Lara Parker told Den of Geek in 2016. "And his heart was broken. It creates a lot of compassion to just be a wicked old witch. In my opinion, his actions were acts of desperation and not acts of evil."
She went on to have small roles in hit series in the 1970s and 1980s. He appeared in "Kojak", "The Man Who Was Worth Three Billion", "The Incredible Hulk", "Hawaii State Police" and "The Man Who Fell at the Right Time".
Relatively absent from screens since the 1990s, Lara Parker did make an appearance in the film adaptation of the series, directed in 2012 by Tim Burton. For the occasion, the role of Angélique Bouchard was taken over by French actress Eva Green, while Barnabas was played by Johnny Depp.
