500 people were arrested, including about 20 rabbis, in the demonstration in front of the US Congress to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. The protest was organized by two Jewish organizations fighting for the liberation of Palestinians.
Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), one of the groups behind what organizers described as "the largest Jewish protest in solidarity with Palestinians in U.S. history," said Capitol police tore down banners reading "Ceasefire Now" while protesters wearing T-shirts reading "Notin Our Name" played shofars and chanted Jewish prayers.
