After months of negotiations, is a deal between the two Indian media giants, Viacom18 and Disney Star, coming soon? According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter, the American group is on the verge of selling its Indian operations to one of the country's most powerful conglomerates. Viacom18 is owned by Reliance, owned by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani. A deal could be finalized as early as next month, according to Bloomberg, and Disney would sell a majority stake in its Indian subsidiary.

However, talks have stalled over the price Reliance would be willing to pay for the acquisition. The Financial Daily The Economic Times reported on Tuesday morning that Disney was asking for $10 billion, while Reliance would offer only $3 billion or even $4 billion. Neither Disney nor Reliance have confirmed this information while rumors of a takeover have been circulating for several months.
