Heavy rain, flooding and wind in the last few hours over Italy, particularly in the north and center, where autumn has arrived with two disturbances between now and the weekend. Damage is limited, but in Liguria, Tuscany, Emilia and Friuli Venezia Giulia the rise in the level of some watercourses is worrying. During the afternoon a cloudburst hit Rome and a storm of water and wind hit Fiumicino.
The night brought a lot of rain to the Ligurian East and flooding was recorded especially between Recco, Rapallo and Chiavari. At the height of its intensity, the A12 was closed between Rapallo and Recco and traffic went haywire. In the morning, the situation eased after dry streams risked flooding in a few hours last night.
Red alert for rivers and streams in flood between Parma and Piacenza was issued from 12 noon. In particular, the Baganza in Marzolara (Parma) quickly reached high levels.
Heavy rainfall this morning also in the provinces of Massa Carrara and Lucca: in one hour 40 millimeters of rain in Mulazzo (Massa Carrara) and the Magra in Villafranca in Lunigiana exceeded the second warning threshold. Also in Porretta Terme, in the Bolognese municipality of Alto Reno, the Rio Maggiore created apprehension around lunchtime. "He risked overflowing, he reached the limit. We have shops, basements and a bank that was flooded by the rain, then there were landslides and small landslides, but all things can be solved," explained Mayor Giuseppe Nanni. The rain, however, flooded Piazza della Libertà and Via Mazzini, which were no longer passable, carrying debris.
In the afternoon, a cloudburst hit the capital.

Roads invaded by water in Parioli and Montesacro while due to the fall of trees and branches traffic in tilt at the Giustiniana and on the Via del Mare. In the Municipality of Fiumicino, many trees and other structures such as gazebos fell in the area of the village of Testa di Lepre, also damaging cars. Also in Versilia, in Viareggio, there were some flooded underpasses and several cornices of houses and fallen plants. In the western pine forest, a large pine tree has fallen on the swan pond and, in the city, some palm trees have fallen. Some plants also down in the hinterland of Camaiore (Lucca), along the road that leads to Pedona.
In Friuli, the Cosa stream overflowed, the road system near the Maniago forest warehouse was flooded, water invaded the roadway along the former provincial road 32 in Travesio, and a stream overflowed in Almadis in Castelnovo del Friuli. In the province of Udine, high water is reported in Trasaghis, while in the province of Gorizia there was the collapse of an embankment in Grado.
