At least 4 out of 10 Italians will take advantage of Black Friday to shop at discounted prices, but above all to anticipate Christmas gifts, giving rise to a turnover that this year will break through the threshold of 4 billion euros.
This was stated by Codacons on the eve of the start of the period of offers and promotions that will start tomorrow 17 November and go on until 27 November.
42% of citizens are certain to buy at least one product during the discount period, but if we also consider the share of undecided and those who will consider at the last minute whether or not to join the offers, the percentage of interested parties jumps to 80%. - estimates Codacons - The propensity to spend is growing, with Black Friday turnover exceeding 4 billion euros this year, up +15% on 2022. An increase that, however, should not be misleading: to defend themselves from the cost of living and increases in retail prices, consumers are essentially moving their Christmas purchases to November, in order to anticipate gifts by taking advantage of discounts. According to Codacons' forecasts, as many as 1 in 2 purchases made on Black Friday will be an early Christmas gift.
At the top of the ranking of the most popular products during Black Friday there will also be electronics and hi-tech, a sector where about 65% of consumers intend to make at least one purchase - analyzes the association - Interest in the clothing, footwear and accessories sector is growing, which will involve 58% of citizens who will take advantage of the discounts, and that of health and beauty products (30%).
