Bank of Italy, Chiara Scotti of the US Fed joins the board of directors - Breaking note

Chiara Scotti, an Italian with a long career in the United States and current Senior Vice President and Director of Research at the Federal Reserve of Dallas, joins the Board of Directors of the Bank of Italy as Deputy Director General. The appointment, on the proposal of the Governor, was unanimously approved by the Superior Council of the central institute. The appointment, approved in accordance with Article 18 of the Bank's Statute, must be approved by decree of the President of the Republic, promoted by the President of the Council of Ministers in agreement with the Minister for the Economy and Finance. As the Bank of Italy recalls, Chiara Scotti, "prior to her appointment at the Federal Reserve of Dallas, held various roles on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve of Washington: advisor to the Vice President of the Federal Reserve and other members of the Board, member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Stability Division, economist at the Division of International Finance".
He has extensive international experience, in particular in monetary policy, central bank communication, macroeconomics and empirical finance, financial stability, payments and digital assets. She is the author of numerous research papers published in international journals and presented at seminars and conferences. After graduating from Bocconi University in Milan, he earned a Master's and PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
