If you want to put some money aside for the Christmas presents that will soon be due in the run-up to Christmas, you can easily save money in everyday life.

In many German households, even a smaller Christmas tree will probably have to suffice this Christmas. As the results of a recent survey by the consulting firm EY show, consumers want or need to hold back a little when it comes to giving gifts this year. As part of the study, 27 percent of the more than 1,000 German citizens stated that they plan significant restrictions on the purchase of gifts. Another 40 percent intend to make at least slight savings. However, if you already pay attention to money in the run-up to Christmas, you might win a euro or two for Christmas.

Cheaper through the pre-Christmas season: Save during Advent

Inflation has also had a strong impact on energy costs in recent years. However, if you follow certain rules when heating, the utility bill will not be too high, even in the autumn and winter months.

In addition, you may be tempted to avoid one or two not-quite-inexpensive temptations in winter, which you need to avoid when saving. Starting with regular café visits, paired with completely overpriced hot drinks. Various coffee houses and coffee shop chains offer limited coffee drinks in winter. If you arrange to meet for a cappuccino every now and then, nothing is lost. However, the daily chai latte on the way to work can also be mixed at home and transported in a to-go cup.
