But you shouldn't put up the tree too late, because then there is not only a chance that all the beautiful trees will be sold out, you will also have less time to enjoy the Christmas tradition. When buying the tree, you should keep these things in mind.

Seven tips on what you should keep in mind when setting it up:

  • It is best to transport the tree inside the car. Strapped to the roof of the car, there is a risk that the tree will damage the paintwork. On the other hand, you don't have to worry about falling needles there.
  • It is best to store the Christmas tree in a place protected from the wind, such as on the terrace, until it is ready for use.
  • Just before exhibiting, you should acclimatize the tree, as My Beautiful Garden points out. The best way to do this is to place the plant in a room with about ten degrees Celsius, such as the basement, for half a day.
  • Before setting it up, if you haven't already done so, cut off a piece of the tree trunk. This allows the tree to absorb the water better, as Oekotest.de reports.
  • You should remove the transport net a few days before Christmas so that the branches have time to unhook.
  • However, the tree is easier to attach to the stand when the net is still stretched around the tree.
  • Spray the tree regularly with water to keep the needles looking beautiful for as long as possible. You can do the same with your Advent wreath.

If you use real candles, you should always water the tree enough, as the drier the needles, the faster it will catch fire. Water the tree every day, depending on the size and temperature in the living room.
