An encore of the Swiss Marco Odermatt who also won the second giant slalom in Alta Badia in 2.28.14. For him it is the 27th success of his career and the fourth on the Gran Risa. With him on the podium the Austrian Marco Schwarz in 2.29.19 and the Croatian Zan Kranjec in 2.29.36.
For Italy the best also in this giant slalom was an excellent Giovanni Borsotti 9th in 2.31.22 followed by Filippo Della Vite 13th in 2.31.71. Then in the standings there is a satisfied slalom skier Alex Vinatzer who, with bib number 42, finished 21st in 2.33.16 and should therefore enter the group of the best thirty giant slalom skiers. Luca De Aliprandini from Trentino, on the other hand, finished only 24th in 2.33.49, the last of the Azzurri, but at least managed to complete this giant slalom after the exits in the previous two.
Now the men's world cup leaves South Tyrol and passes into Trentino for the last race before Christmas, the special night slalom next Friday in Madonna di Campiglio.
