Hot chocolate bombs are a trendy dessert that has gained popularity in recent years. They offer a delicious and fun way for young and old to make hot chocolate. These chocolate balls, filled with cocoa and mini marshmallows, become a delicious hot drink with warm milk. Hot Chocolate Bombs can also be varied. You can refine the cocoa with sugar or powdered sugar, add cinnamon or vanilla for an aromatic version, or fill the Hot Chocolate Bombs with chocolate chips or nuts for a crispier creation.

You need the following ingredients for three Hot Chocolate Bombs:

  • 200 g chocolate (e.g. dark or whole milk)
  • 3 tbsp mini marshmallows
  • 6 tsp drinking chocolate powder or cocoa powder
  • White chocolate, melted
  • Colorful sprinkles

This is how easy it is to prepare the hot chocolate:

  • Coarsely chop the chocolate and let it melt over a hot water bath.
  • Pour one tablespoon of liquid chocolate into a silicone hemispherical mold for six hemispheres and spread quickly with a brush. Allow to cool in the freezer for ten minutes. If necessary, repeat the process until the hemispheres have an even and stable layer of chocolate.
  • Remove half of the chocolate hemispheres from the pan and place in muffin paper baking cups. Divide one tablespoon of marshmallows and two teaspoons of cocoa powder per ball into three hemispheres.
  • Heat the edges of the other three hemispheres briefly in the pan, immediately place on the filled hemisphere and press down gently.
  • Decorate with white chocolate and colorful sprinkles to taste.
  • Pour into a cup, pour in hot milk and enjoy!
