Unlike Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas lunch, when the latter was the privilege, New Year's Eve dinner is destined to be the favorite meal of the majority of Italians: about 55 percent against 40 percent who opt for New Year's Eve lunch and 5 percent who do not express themselves.
