The Upgraded Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem/Tye Farrow Partners
The Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee announced today (Sunday) its decision to give final approval to the plan to enlarge Herzog Hospital located in Givat Shaul, Jerusalem. The plan proposes a significant enlargement of the hospital, and regulation of the entire hospital campus.
The plan proposes expanding the built-up area of the hospital as well as strengthening and strengthening the existing system, while increasing the number of beds from 350 to about 1200 beds by adding four new buildings: a 4-story continuation hospitalization building, a 6-story psychiatric building, and a future 3-story hospitalization building and an administration and research building.
In addition, the plan proposes ancillary uses such as a conference center, spot commerce and a large underground parking lot, and upgrading the hospital's traffic system for both vehicles and pedestrians.

It should be recalled that only six months ago, a plan to build a public hospital in the city of Beit Shemesh was approved for deposit. The plan includes about 770 beds, which will provide a response to a population of about 360,<> residents in the city of Beit Shemesh and to residents of the immediate area in Mateh Yehuda. Now, as mentioned, Herzog Hospital is also expected to undergo a makeover.
Jerusalem District Planner at the Planning Authority, Arch. Dan Keinan: "This is a plan that will enable the development of the hospital and its adaptation to up-to-date hospitalization and treatment requirements, and its optimal functioning as a leading geriatric and psychiatric hospital, for the benefit of the residents of Jerusalem and the communities in the area for decades to come."
The plan was initiated by Ezrat Nashim Herzog Hospital, and was prepared by Ronel Architects.
