This afternoon, at the headquarters of the Italian Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi met with a delegation of workers from the former Ilva plant in Taranto.
The appointment, which had been scheduled for some time, allowed the cardinal to renew the closeness and solidarity of the Church, which pass first and foremost through attentive listening. In this moment of uncertainty for the future, the cardinal expressed the hope that the right perspective and adequate solutions can be found, always combining the rights to work and health. The workers, in thanking the president of the Italian Bishops' Conference, presented him with a plaque in memory of "this memorable moment".
