- ROME - About 32% of farmhouses in Italy produce at least one PDO or PGI product, the share exceeds 50% in Valle d'Aosta, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the autonomous province of Trento. Tuscany is close to 50%. The figure emerges from the National Assembly of Green Tourism-CIA held in Rome with a snapshot of the sector presented by Umberto Selmi of the National Rural Network. The report highlights that to date there are over 8,800 female-run farmhouses (+0.7% compared to 2021) and represent more than a third of the total (46.6% in the South)

Educational farms are also growing, doubling in the last decade, reaching 2022,2 in 132, equal to 8.2% of the total (they were 3.9% in 2010).
The study shows that 34% of farmers are under 40 years old (compared to 10.2% on farms) and the average age is just under 50, down from 55.6% in 2004. The accommodation capacity amounts to 535,297 seats, 32,2013 seats (+21% on 77) and 2013,2022 pitches (+25% on 849). Finally, it is recalled that in 1 there were 8,2021 agritourism companies (+1.5% on <>) while the value of production is <>.<> billion
