"The National Department of Civil Protection will proceed with the re-examination of the request for the declaration of a state of emergency in Sicily, after the Region has sent the necessary documentation to Rome. In this sense, the head of the regional department announced that he had urged the mayors of the municipalities involved to produce documentary supports by 19 January. I am satisfied with the agreement reached, now everyone will have to respect the deadlines".
This was stated by the Minister for Civil Protection Nello Musumeci, at the end of the meeting held in Rome between the head of the national Civil Protection and the Sicilian one.
