Highlights: A group of criminals in Ecuador, allegedly responsible for the indiscriminate attacks across the country, has apologised to the population. In a video released by the group, about twenty of them can be seen standing, dressed in white T-shirts and jeans, gathered around one of their comrades. "We salute the whole country and apologize for the unrest, especially to you poor, who are the most affected," he said. The message attacks the head of state, described as "a rich guy with his superhero ego", and possible negotiations with the government.

A group of criminals in Ecuador, allegedly responsible for the indiscriminate attacks across the country, has apologised to the population and pointed the finger at President Daniel Noboa for the violence that left at least 13 people dead.
In a video released by the group, about twenty of them can be seen standing, dressed in white T-shirts and jeans, gathered around one of their comrades who, without showing his face, reads a statement. "We salute the whole country and apologize for the unrest, especially to you poor, who are the most affected," he said.
The message attacks the head of state, described as "a rich guy with his superhero ego", and possible negotiations with the government are made on the example of Colombia. "Colombia has agreements with the United States and has made peace treaties with the FARC, guerrillas and paramilitaries, while you want to kill and have the Ecuadorian people killed for your damn ego." And then: "Do you know what a peace agreement is? It serves to put an end to an armed confrontation between two nations or organizations with the aim of a better life."
