The likelihood of developing it increases with age. Characteristic symptoms go far beyond the loss of cognitive abilities.
Lewy body dementia, also known as Lewy body dementia, is a form of dementia and is usually not diagnosed until after the age of 65. There is still some uncertainty about whether Lewy body dementia should be considered a disease in its own right or whether it is a variant of Parkinson's disease with early onset of dementia, according to the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). Patients with Lewy body dementia often show symptoms similar to those who have Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. There are even cases in which mixed forms of these three diseases occur. It seems that men are probably more likely to be affected by Lewy body dementia than women.
