Sending off at the end of the game in the Coppa Italia derby cost Roma dearly. The sports judge of this tournament, Alessandro Zampone, has in fact disqualified Gianluca Mancini for 3 days and Sardar Azmoun for two. The two were also fined ten thousand and five thousand euros respectively. Roma as a club was also fined €15,<> for the behaviour of its supporters.
Having been eliminated from this season's tournament, the two Giallorossi will serve their suspensions in the 2024-'25 Coppa Italia. Mourinho's assistant, Nuno Santos, was also sent off.
The measure against Mancini (Roma's captain in Wednesday's derby) was taken, explains a note from the football league, "for non-regulatory behavior on the pitch (First sanction); because immediately after the final whistle of the match, he approached the Referee and ordered his teammates not to shake hands with the Referee himself, towards whom, with a hostile attitude, he addressed seriously offensive expressions; subsequently, the same player waited for the Match Director on the stairs adjacent to the Match Officials' dressing room and addressed further expressions of equal serious offensiveness to the referee". Azmoun, on the other hand, "in the 54th minute of the second half, hit an opposing player with a fist to the face with a half-time."
Also suspended for one day, again in relation to the Coppa Italia quarter-final matches, are Lazio's Pedro and Luca Pellegrini and Milan's Mirante. Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was also given a one-match suspension, after he was sent off during the match against AC Milan and who at the end of the game, interviewed by Sport Mediaset, had twice called referee Di Bello "very rude".
