Do you already know this kitchen trick? One user knows it from her grandmother. For others, the trick is new, and they celebrate it.
Munich – There were almost 1000 "likes" in just over two days for a kitchen tip on X (formerly Twitter). Some were already familiar with the trick, others react gratefully – and in some cases it even leads to a reminder of old times. "Did you know that the lids of these salad tins fit very well on the large cups for yogurt or buttermilk?" the post reads.
Pop lid on Rewe yoghurt: Looks strange, but keeps you fresh
The whole thing is underpinned by a photo: The lid of a "Poultry Salad" spread from the Popp brand closes an organic yoghurt from Rewe's own brand. This looks odd because the design doesn't match, but it's also highly practical. This keeps the leftovers fresher. And they didn't spend a cent extra. Most consumers are likely to simply throw away their potentially valuable packaging lids.
Many probably rethink after the post and roll over with enthusiasm. Among other things, it says: "Great tip", "Cool", "Great, and I got extra matching lids for it", "Thanks, go try it right away", "How cool is that?", "Disturbing, but admittedly practical", "Thanks for the tip", "Whooot? "And the lids of the pumpernickel cans fit the 800g dog food cans. I don't throw anything away senselessly. By the way, the Ültje lids from the salted nuts fit perfectly on tuna cans," says another. One user shows off her "favorite lids" and writes: "These lids fit perfectly on the standard cream/sour cream crème fraîche cups. I inherited a handful from my mother when I moved out."
The kitchen trick is not new, on the contrary. One person promptly remembers her grandmother: "My grandmother always knew things like that. She had a drawer in the closet where such things were collected. There were no Tupperware containers or anything like that in my life until I grew up."
