Every day, 3 workers do not return home: they die or are seriously injured.
It is on this premise that the Safety Tour 2024 restarted: the initiative of Matteo Mondini who, after a very serious accident at work, following the loss of an arm (he has currently undergone over 40 surgeries), began to travel the length and breadth of Italy, between schools and companies, to talk about his experience and avoid, with his example, new, tragic, accidents at work.
The first stop of the tour was on January 8th at Prysmian in Milan. The next steps are on January 16 in a high school in the province of Lecco, at the end of January in a company in Turin, on February 28 in an event promoted by the Municipality of Cesano Maderno open to citizens. On 5-6 March in Bolzano in a multinational company.
"I abandoned everything to turn my experience into a life mission. "I visit companies and schools to share my story and underline the vital importance of working safely. Our country suffers from a lack of a culture of safety, an urgent problem that requires everyone's commitment. The road to reversing this trend begins with awareness and concrete action. Let's join forces to end this emergency and create a safe working environment for all. You work to live, not to die."
Mondini expresses "deep concern" and adds: "We find ourselves stressing that the massacre of deaths at work persists, with three people who do not return home every day. An alarming reality that requires immediate action."
