The French Cyprien Sarrazin after the success in the free of Bormio also won in 1.47.75 the super-G in Wengen.
For him, 29 years old and third success in his career, there was a real transformation from giant slalom racer to sprinter. The French left behind the Swiss Marco Odermatt, who had beaten him on Thursday by winning the sprint descent, in 1.48.33 while the Norwegian Alekasnder Kilde in 1.48.75 finished third again as he had been third in the free.
The best Italian was a satisfied Dominik Paris but 4th in 1.48.81 and therefore with another Italian race at the foot of the podium even if only six hundredths from third place. Then there is, excellent fifth in 1.48.91, the very happy Piedmontese Guglielmo Bosca who obtained the best result of his career. A little further back, 10th in 1.49.37, the always regular Mattia Casse while the veteran Christof Innerhofer in 1.50.67 made another great race at the age of 39 in the name of class and character.
Further back Florian Schieder in 1.50.93. The race took place on a long track practically similar to that of Thursday's downhill but with a few more gates.
But the race also saw the very bad fall on a jump of the French champion Alexis Pinturault - who became a father for the first time in a week - with probable damage especially to the right knee.
Tomorrow in Wengen the classic Lauberhorn descent will be staged, the longest in the world at 4,270 meters.
