Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak signed a security agreement between the two countries in Kyiv. This was reported by the Guardian, reporting that Zelensky described it as an "unprecedented security agreement". According to the Ukrainian president, quoted by Kiev media, the agreement will remain in force until Ukraine joins NATO.
The new aid package
Sunak will announce a €2.9 billion military aid package to Ukraine for the year 2024/2025, Downing Street said. This is an increase of around €233 million compared to the previous two years. Welcoming Kyiv's determination to defend itself against the Russian invasion, the prime minister said that "the UK will not falter either". He added: "We will stand by Ukraine in the darkest hours and better times to come."
