On Thursday, January 11, Belgian artist Lous and the Yakuza revealed on her Instagram account that she has multiple sclerosis. She accompanied her message with a touching video montage.


"A year ago, two weeks after releasing my second album, I woke up paralyzed in both legs," she wrote on her Instagram account on Wednesday, January 10. The 27-year-old Belgian singer, Lous and the Yakuza, revealed through this long message to her fans that she has multiple sclerosis, an infection that attacks the brain and spinal cord. "I had no idea what was happening to me. And before I knew it, I was in a wheelchair for three months because I couldn't walk," she told her 440,000 followers.

Lous and the Yakuza said she was "lost and confused" during this period, desperately seeking a diagnosis from top doctors, one of whom resided in Paris. The actress, who was nominated in the category of Female Revelation of the Year at the 2021 Victoires de la Musique, spoke of her distress at the time of being a victim of racism. "And this very famous neurologist looked at my MRI of the brain and spine and said, 'I have good news for you. You're a black woman, but you have a brain. And I think you have multiple sclerosis."
