The former prime minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern (43), married her partner Clarke Gayford (47) in a ceremony at Craggy Range, in Hawke Bay, on the east coast of the North Island.
The wedding, initially scheduled for 2022 but postponed due to the pandemic, was attended by several celebrities and political figures, reports the New Zealand Herald. The couple released photos in which the newlyweds can be seen strolling smiling by the hand and hugging between the rows of the vineyard where refreshments were held. She wears a long ivory dress without sleeves and with a narrow waist, a drapery at the neckline, her hair gathered in a bun inside a long tulle veil. The wedding rings were designed by New Zealand jewellers Zoe and Morgan. The groom pinned the same white flowers on his chest as in Jacinda's bouquet. Neve, the couple's five-year-old daughter, wore a wreath of flowers in her hair and a white dress made from the fabric of her grandmother Laurell Ardern's wedding dress. In front of the guests, Ardern gave a five-minute speech to her "best friend and now husband", friends, close colleagues and family, some of whom made a very long journey to attend the wedding in New Zealand.
The wedding dishes at Craggy Range have not been disclosed, says the New Zealand Herald, but the restaurant's summer menu includes venison tartare, roasted Hohepa halloumi (a kind of cheese), pan-fried local fish and glazed lamb shoulder. Ardern's hairdresser, Tane Tomoana, shared a photo of the paua (hailwater snail) and snapper sausage rolls on social media. After dinner, the guests danced with the newlyweds, exactly ten years after the first date between Jacinda and Clarke.
